Hmmmm...this would look nice....

Just playing. The bottom picture was taken yesterday morning. It's Levi's flower that he's nurturing and I figured I needed to document his pleasure of growing his own flower. I looked at the pic on my computer screen, and thought, hmm...I wonder what it would look like if I zoomed in, increased the brightness and contrast, hmmm...oooh, I like it. It would even be prettier with some digi brushes...and so on it went.

Log Your Memory Challenge #1

I've been enjoying this community, and downloaded their Memory Logbook 2010. This is a great resource to keep track of all your little memories and page layout ideas.

The website gives different challenges every week, and so I attempted my first and uploaded it to the gallery. The challenge was to create a layout using inspiration from a children's storybook. I was reading "Give a Mouse to a Cookie" to my youngest, and when I saw this page, I was inspired to create a page with similar features. (And that was before I knew about the challenge! :) ) So here's the picture of the book:

From Log Your Memory Photos
and here is my layout. It's not my usual style, but I enjoy trying different things.

Supplies: Designer Digitals Katie Pertiet Photo Masks, Little Dreamer Designs Doodley Doo Alphas, Lumapix FotoFusion frame, and Century and Georgia fonts.

Velvet with Glitter

Levi's card for his cousin and best friend's birthday. He did a pretty good job, I think!
Creating something fun with MESSY micro glitter is one of the things Levi had been begging to do. And so, I promised he and I would play with it on his 8th birthday. (8th! Where has my little boy gone?!?!?) Have you played with Micro Glitter? These are no ordinary sparklers. This is MICRO glitter. Once you have burnished the stuff onto your adhesive, it STAYS put! Another thing. If you glitter a background (like both projects shown), it will feel like VELVET. We found plastic letters to use as a mask for the title on Levi's card, and he cut out a design on the glossy paper adhesive backing. I used the Glimmer Mist Butterfly Mask from Tattered Angels. The other supplies I found at one of my local LSS, complete with the glitter colors, adhesive sheets and magnet cloth. It took all my will power not to buy every color she had!

The Color Room

I'm feeling the familiar night time chills coming from being up too late.  I better clean up the scrapbooking...but pink, aqua, caramel and white are still dancing in my head. How will I ever be able to sleep?!? Not to mention the lovely fancy metal label holder, the crocheted flower, the bling, the pink Smooch, etc that I'm planning to use for this challenge.

Unlikely Inspiration Found in Mailbox

My kids brought me the mail this morning. A gorgeous envelope from World Vision appeared before my eyes. I instantly conjured up visions of a digital scrapbooked layout. The girl and title struck me first. Notice the slightly distressed white letters. Look at the incredible beauty of the girl with her memorable eyes and colorful head scarf. Then I saw the sub-title. I LOVE how it is slightly tilted, layered and distressed. Next, behold, that grungy looking white frame! But the eye-candy didn't stop there! I turned the envelope over and was pleasantly surprised with the white negative space. I could list more things I like about it, but I'll stop there. My son needs to do his phonics, and it ain't happenin' with me on this computer!

I had promised I would post about the big project I'm working on for my sister, but I chose to post this first. It'll come yet.
