Free unPlanner Calendar Printable

Hi, lovelies! I've had a few requests for a copy of my calendar, shown below.

Feel free to email me customscrapbooksbyanna (at)gmail(dot)com if you'd prefer a different size.

This (link to download highlighted below) calendar measures approx. 7x10 1/8 inches (18x25.5cm), with enough space on the right margin to punch holes for the spine. It will fit into a 6x8" binder, like the ones I have used for my unPlanner.

*Be sure to UN-check "Shrink to Fit" in your printer settings.

To fit into your 6x8 binder, fold over so that it's 6 inches wide, creating a fun interactive look.

For a smaller calendar, below is one that measures approx.

If you want it centered on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper in the same size as above, click this download:

Please be sure to credit me if you download this and share on social media. Thanks! :)

Watercolored Squares Calendar

Hello blogland!

Some of you have been asking me how I make my stencils for my month-at-a-glance pages in my Documented Life Project journal. For the tutorial, scroll down to the bottom of this post for the link.

A close-up of my January page, the first one I made.

This is the June layout. Might add more details yet to this one.

Lots of doodles on my Match page. My favorite is the flower on the far right side. :)

My main inspiration for these doodles come from Tangle Patterns and Helen William's blog A Little Lime

For a tutorial on how to make your own stencils for this calendar, go to Emily Galore's website here.

To download my pattern I used for the stencil, go to this older post of mine here. A note: you will want to adjust the size of the template so it fits your planner. I made it slightly too large for my 15x11 page spread. Let me know if you need help with that. Love to help you out! :)

Enjoy!

Be the Color in Someone's Grey Day: Week 26 of DLP

The Documented Life Project
Week 26

I used my handy dandy Sakura watercolor brush loaded with full strength Dylusions ink for this week's spread. I have the Zesty Lemon (see the yellow day strips?) and the Calypso Teal (the week header) in these great brushes, but will add six more once they get here from www.dickblick.com. Can't wait. Use them everywhere! I just love the Dylusions colors, so having them available as a brush is great. (I don't use sprays as much as brushes and pencils, as they're not as versatile.)

The right hand side is the tip-in, as shown in my previous post. See the LIFT tab there? I added that just now, so that when you page through my art journal, you can see there's something to see underneath this rose. :)

I chose to go all yellow with the day strips this time, instead of alternating different colors like I have in the previous weeks. I like how versatile my design is. I can vary it enough that I don't get bored. :)

This is how it looks with the tip-in open. Three pages. I chose to add a bit of teal and pink to my journaling so that everything matches.

Those pink doodles on the right hand side are so awfully crooked. LOL It's driving me a little bit bonkers, looking at it. I better just not look, huh? Not changing it now!

Be the color in someone's grey day.

I'm off to supper with my family, so will have to finish post later. See ya!

Four and a half hours later...

Hi, I'm back. :)

I doodled these flowers on watercolor paper, watercolored them in, cut out and glued onto this previously gelli-printed music sheet. (It's the other side of the rose page.) Added more details with Sharpie, Twinkling H2O's. couple more yellows with varying kinds of watercolor pencils, added white details with Uniball Signo gel pen.
Doodled stems and circly things, and added more watercolor in different areas. It was really a project I kept on going back to, adding this and that. :)

I love how the music notes on the bottom right are peaking out from the background paint. :) I chose to go with a layout with lots of white space. White space gives your eyes room to rest, and also makes the flowers really be the center of the scene.

This week's header is filled with a tangle called using my Dylusions ink filled Sakura watercolor brush in Calypso Teal.

I don't the name of the tangle, but it's a cross between
FLUTTER TILE
FIFE
FLOURISH
NETTING
PUF
and
BALES
:)
I just used a simple label sticker for the title. Handy and quick. :)

Some of the pink paint bled through to the page on the left. Oh well. Adds character, right?

The title in hot pink was written with a Montana acrylic paint pen Gleaming Pink.

The background is a Gelli-print on vintage music paper. I think I was just cleaning off the plate, or from multiple printings. Only a bit of the paint was left over. I figure that makes for a nice subtle background. :)
Well, that's it Lovelies!
I'm looking forward to creating next week's pages. How about you?

Have a great evening.

Spirograph and Silhouettes

♥  The Documented Life Project  ♥

May 11-17, 2014

Mixed colors for each day of the week...
Black zentangling for the header...
Some flippy flaps this time...
Turquoise watercoloring for the circle dates...
Dylusions Ink used as paint for the days of the week strips...

Silhouette flap with sewing complements of my daughter. I stole it from her art stash. She said later it was okay...teehee...
Dotted black and white washi-tape for the flap. I really do need to come up with a different method of creating a flap, really I do...

Another flappy thing...
An index card sized watercolor paper...
One specific thing that spells God's love to me lately...it's the little things I am so grateful for. I like to document them...
Circle watercolor spots, dotted and doodled with my go-to black Sharpie marker and a new white Signo Uni-ball UM 153 pen. Got 12 of them in the mail recently from Amazon for under 15 bucks!...

May 18-24, 2014

More Dylusions Ink used as paint for the weekly strips...
Spirograph art using my old school set I still have from my childhood...
More turquoise colored circle dates...

Went with black Sharpie marker for the journaling this time...

Well, just a quick update on my ongoing Documented Life Project. I am going strong right now! I would like to change it up a bit more, but we'll see, we'll see. :)

Happy Day to you!

Documenting Your Life

Hi, fellow art journalers! I love the Documented Life Project. It's keeping me very busy and involved, and I'm learning so much! The documentating I do in an artsy way is the heartbeat of this project, and very important to me. :) A quote by Ali Edwards is the very thing that motivates me to do this project (beside the amazing community this group is!).
I used one of her many journaling prompts. I printed it off her website, and decorated it with my doodles.

The prompts are:

1. What I ate for breakfast, lunch, and supper.
(Think about it. Wouldn't it be interesting to know what your great-grandparents had to eat one day of their life? Maybe I am just weird, but it's fascinating to me. LOL)

2. What I observed today.

3. What I overheard today.

4. What I feel gratitude for today.

5. A favorite moment of the day.
Very meaningful, wouldn't you say?

So here's a great quote from my documenting guru, Ali Edwards. If you need any inspiration of what kind of details of your life you could cover in your art journal, go to her website. She has so many great ideas. :)

Have a wonderful joy-filled, filled with gratitude kind of day today! Especially fitting, as it's Easter Weekend.

:)

Oh, by the way, I want a new name for my blog. Annawhocropsalot is a name that only scrapbookers can relate to, as scrapbookers "crop" together. Any suggestions?
:)

Background is a gelli-print I made which I scanned to my computer, and the font is Traveling Typewriter.

♥ Art Journal Update ♥

Happily playing in The Documented Life Project art journal.
Loving the process more and more!

Week Two of February:

Loving the intensity of the Derwent Inktense pencils. I also use Generals watercolor pencils, especially the yellow and greens. :)

We had a lovely week of learning at my house. Read-a-louds, history, music, math, gymnastics, science co-op, Monet art study, Olympics, bible study, loving on Grandma and Grandpa, and out with friends. Speaking of Claude Monet, I am EXTREMELY inspired by his works. Want to attempt a piece using his methods.

The title page background for week 2 pictured above is a Gelli-print. For the pattern, I used a stencil I made for myself.

Week 1 of February

This project has a new challenge you can do every week. I haven't done every challenge, but I DID do Week Six - Open your Pinterest board and be inspired. I chose to do a simple zentangle

by Carole Ohl. This is the most inspiring tangle I think I've ever done. {{shout-out to her - check out her blog here: Open Seed Arts!}} Instead of black lines, I chose my go-to Sharpie markers, which seems to be THE marker I use throughout this project so far. :

For my February week-at-a-glance title, I used an old book page as the background. I sprayed yummy colors of Dylusions ink on one side, let it dry, and noticed that the back was much prettier and cooler than the front, so voila, an accidental art piece. #iamanaccidentalartist. :P

The rose didn't start as a rose, it kinda grew into one. Initially I just wanted pretty splotches of watercolour, but they started looking like flowers...:)

Journal Cover

Many have asked about my process, so here it is:

Step 1: Scribble circles with watercolour pencils in a random fashion, drawing different sizes and colours.

Step 2: Load brush with water, and "plop" down the water on top of the scribbled pencil, slightly brushing the water in. Don't brush too much, as then the water will not settle as much, to create that mottled watercolour look. Be sure to was the brush when you move to a different colour.

Step 3: Let dry completely. I think I did the watercolouring one day, and the doodling the next day.

Step 4: With a black marker, draw around the edge of each coloured circle. Then do another circle around the first round. Colour in the small spots between circles with marker. I used a black Sharpie ultra-fine tipped marker. Make sure you use a permanent marker, as at the end you will seal the art. (This piece of art is the cover of my journal, so I wanted to protect it.)

Step 5: For the script background, I scribbled the lyrics to a favourite song of mine: Speak Life by Toby Mac.

Step 6: To seal it, I used matte medium and brushed it across the entire page.

Some of my processes of designing my planner:

Day dots: Punched circles out of book paper, scribbled circles, doodles the numbers, and painted the inside with watercolour paints. :)

Another pic with the days written in and some more lovely washi tape edges. :)

For most of the day strips, I am watercolouring them in. My journaling is varied: sometimes I use black, sometimes other colors. Once in awhile I draw a frame around the journaling to seperate it from the other notes. The splotches are made using Dylusions ink spray.

This spread was from January. Kinda made it look a bit busy with all those splotches on ink spray. The dots are simply pouncing wet round sponges on the dye ink-based Dylusions ink spray. Added some washi tape here...

For the January week-at-a-glance title, I made art of the memory verse my kids were memorizing and using as copywork in our homeschool. :) Used a stencil by Balzer Designs and the Dylusions ink spray for that dotty there...The yellow-green splotches is acrylic paint simply smudged onto the pages.

My daughter and I were doing art together one day, and I happened to look over, and spied her making a cute banner out of washi-tape! I had to copy that! Thanks, Sweets, for the lovely idea!

My Selfie

Week 2 Challenge was doing a selfie. So, made a scrapbook page with some of my IG photos. Other items and techniques used: Gelli-printing, stamping, twine, stencil and modeling paste for the chevron strip to the right of the picture strip, paper snippets from an old book, doodling, and more! I uploaded and printed my IG photos using Printsgram.

Some close-ups:

paper snippets from an old book, date stamp, if the first time doesn't work out, stamp again, and this way you're looking artsy...

stamping, washi-tape, modeling paste, stencils, book pages

doodling and stamping

Some of the textures were created using a Tim Holtz stencil on the Gelli-plate. LOVE IT! The flourish is my first hand-carved stamp. :) The little blue circles are made with a marker and a circle template. Loving my yellow twine...

Sorry for the extremely unorganized blog post.

Happy playing and make today a great day, loving one another always!

The Documented Life Project

Hello from annawhoisawayfromthisblogalot! I have been busy creating, and have not taken the time to update here for a long time. I am into art journaling right now, and so my digi scrapping has been put in the corner. :0

To those of you who are doing the Documented Life Project! I am up to my eyeballs with life right now, so I don't have time to write a full post right now. I DO want to share my whole process and post more pics for those who have requested, but for now I'll provide the printables and links to the info you wanted. Thanks! :)

For the journal prompt by Ali Edwards that I used on page pictured above ^^, click HERE .

For those of you wanted a printable version of the calendar, click the following links to download:

So, you could print off these pages and use as a stencil template, or just print them onto your actual art journaling paper. Have fun. Would love to see what you do with them!

Thanks, ya'all! Now I'm gonna get out of my pjs, make lunch for my kidlings, get them off my iphone, clean up the house, pack up my art journaling stash, and go visit my twin sis at their new house they just finished building. Whoo hoo! She has a library with a craft table in the center.

We will play, we will play amidst the beautiful light coming in through her plentiful and large windows! The kids will be playing with their new Rainbow Looms, and sliding down all the dirt hills they've got at their place. We have eight feet of snow in these northern parts!

For more info on this project, see my new link to the left, right at the top of this page.

Skip, skip, skip to my lou...umm, I mean skip, skip, skip to my twin to play with my art journal!

Love, Anna
